– Regarding paleontology: Diatomite fossils, plant fossils, coral lime, semi-fossil corals, mollusk shells, etc. are very valuable for scientific research; education, training and sightseeing, tourism.
– Regarding geomorphology and landscape: In the mountainous areas are the Van Hoa plateau, waterfalls; in the coastal plains are lagoons, lagoons, bays, ancient seawaters and beautiful beaches, with 45 heritage sites that have been listed. Of which, 02 heritages stand out, including the geomorphological heritage of Xuan Dai Bay and the geomorphological heritage of Deo Ca – Hon Nua landscape protection area.
– Regarding the diversity of rock types: The most prominent is the diversity of rock types – products of geological processes with the presence of 14 formations and 05 intrusive magmatic rock complexes. It shows a wide variety of intrusive magmatic – volcanic rocks, mainly with acidic – neutral compositions, interwoven with shallow marine sedimentary rocks that have gradually transformed into continental sediments since about 175 million years ago. These rock formations are widely exposed in Phu Yen province, especially within the planned scope of the Geopark.
– Regarding the history of development and geological structure: The study area has undergone a long history of geological development, in many different tectonic contexts. The geological development history of the area can be divided into stages.
– Regarding stratigraphy: In the study area, there are 07 sedimentary, metamorphic, sedimentary-eruptive stratigraphic units with pre-Quaternary age, which are the formations: Tac Po, Phong Hanh, Dray Linh, Ea sup, Nha Trang, Kon Tum and Dai Nga.
– Regarding geological resources: Gabbro paving stone, peat, hot mineral water,…
