On the afternoon of November 9, 2022, the Organizing Committee of the 20th International Conference on Volcanic Caves held a meeting to report on the progress of the Conference (from November 21, 2022 to November 26, 2022). Chairing the meeting: Comrade Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee, members of the Organizing Committee and the group of consulting experts on the construction and development of the Geopark.

The 20th International Conference on Volcanic Caves (ISV 20) and “15 Years of Developing UNESCO Global Geoparks in Vietnam” were hosted by Dak Nong province with the professional coordination of the Institute of Geological Sciences and Mineral Resources and the Vietnam Museum of Nature. Accordingly, up to now, Dak Nong has established an Organizing Committee, an Advisory Board, Subcommittees to assist and assign tasks to members.

Dak Nong has also built a bilingual website about ISV20 and the conference schedule. The survey to build tours according to the ISV20 schedule, the production of communication clips promoting the cave conference, and the development of the main theme of the Conference have also been implemented…

At the meeting, members of the Organizing Committee contributed their opinions on issues such as accommodation facilities and places to eat and sleep for delegates attending the conference; traffic issues, environment, funding for related activities…

Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh requested localities, departments and branches to join hands, coordinate, and speed up the implementation of preparatory work to successfully organize the conference, building a beautiful image of Dak Nong in the eyes of international friends.

Up to now, the preparation work is still urgently carrying out many tasks to ensure the completion of the contents according to plan.
